What an amazing place !
The hotel is like stepping back into the 30's or 40's and is a unique experience. It's got so many beautiful things and it's a beautiful building. The staff could not have been more friendly and helpful. We had a great walk around the property and saw the horses, the vintage cars and the dairy. The swimming pool wasn't in use as it was being repaired but it looked like it would have been great. My room was lovely, comfy bed and it was so cool. Outside it was in high 30's but my room was cool and I never used the air con, only the huge ceiling fan. The food was delicious. We were lucky to meet the Maharaji and Maharani and they were so friendly and hospitable. It's a great place and I'd highly recommend.
Unique Palatial Residence
This was a unique experience. It's a beautifully furnished medium sized palace and the atmosphere takes one back to its glory days. There is a beautiful central garden and some interesting out-buildings where they store antique cars, a horse stable and cow compound. We were welcomed by a costumed servant and given necklaces of marigolds and had cocktails in the garden where we met the Maharajah's wife and were served meals in the elegant dining room. Definitely worth staying at!
